Evaluation "Hi, i mean hi"

The aim of this assignment was to get us to think about the meanings of camera shots and how as a group we can work together to create this. It was also about teamwork and how we work together to create this. My group used cinematography to convey meaning in some ways by using over the shoulder angles so present the conversation between two characters and show some sort of connection. We also used medium shots to achieve the capturing of the characters facial expressions to  give the audience some sort of connection with them. Our group used miss-en-scene to convey meaning by using a school playground to represent the youth of the production and also using a gate instead of a chainlink fence to show the outer world and represent how school feels sometimes (a cage and no escape) therefore thats why we make friends and relationships with people. Sound wasn't really a key element to our production because we didn't have a mic to capture words well. We all worked on the project because Abdi and maya was directing and putting their input of how they think things should look, and we all agreed, Usama played the role of the boy, I played the role of the girl and Seher was the main director. What i have learnt from doing this project is that as a group we need to also think about the less obvious things to us, like clothing and lighting, but is very important to the viewer and how they register things in their mind. Also, i would think about camera shots more and think of more meaningful shots to represent certain characters.
